‘We have to keep going! Musical theatre about the desire to stay’ is an inclusive musical theatre project for children and young people aged 9 to 18. Based on themes from the opera THE RISE AND FALL OF THE CITY OF MAHAGONNY by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, the participants develop their own image of society and consider: ‘If we were to build a city, what would it look like and what rules would apply there?’ The result of the project, a musical theatre production by and with 24 young people, will be presented in two performances at the Tischlerei on 19 and 20 July 2025.
