Barrierefreiheits-Erklärung - Deutsche Oper Berlin
Declaration of accessibility
We are committed to making this website and its mobile application accessible. The accessibility statement is required by law. The technical requirements for accessibility are derived from BITV 2.0.
This digital accessibility statement applies to the Deutsche Oper Berlin website published at www.deutscheoperberlin.de.
How accessible is the website?
The verification of compliance with the requirements is based on
- an evaluation last made by Stiftung kulturserver.de gGmbH on 01.06.23. This evaluation was carried out using the following tools:
Plugin "Screen Reader" Version 53.0.2784.13 for the Chrome Browser.
Speech output Windows 10
Screen reader Jaws, version 2021 - a review carried out on 31.05.23 using the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool.
The following elements are used on individual pages that are not fully accessible:
We are constantly developing our website and content to further minimise accessibility limitations.
Not all areas are accessible, as an immediate solution for all areas would be a disproportionate burden.
- Labels for the images, form controls, buttons, links, input purposes, hover information and references are partially missing.
- Headings, links and references are partly empty.
- The text hierarchies are not always clear. There are a few formal errors in the syntax, but these should not limit accessibility.
- There are several redundant alternative texts, which are either deleted or still being replaced.
- Alternative texts for images are being created. The possibility of having these maintained by the online editorial team is still being provided.
- The contrast between text and background colours is not always optimal. We are striving to improve readability here.
- The images and videos are not always sufficiently contrasty. This is often due to the artistic work - e.g. the set design, the use of white space in graphics or the costumes, which are a suitable setting for the production.
- The website is not completely available in easy language according to the rules of the Netzwerk Leichte Sprache. The texts are currently being revised and will be made available as soon as possible. The offer will be extended step by step.
- There is currently no offer in German sign language. Work on this is in the planning stage.
- There are currently many videos with alternative film captions. Deutsche Oper is constantly expanding this offer.
- The PDF documents used on the website are not barrier-free. They are replaced by a link to the offer at an external provider: https://issuu.com/deutscheoperberlin. Deutsche Oper has no influence on the barrier-free implementation on this external site.
- The size of the images and text on the website can be controlled via the browser. If you would like to see the content larger, please use the current keyboard commands ctrl + (enlarge) and ctrl - (reduce).
